Now that we are entering Autumn, and the worst fires of the year are behind us, it’s time to replace air filters.
Most modern vehicles have two air filters – one that filters air for humans, and one that filters air for the engine. Normally we recommend air filter replacement every other oil change, about ever 10,000 – 12,000 miles driven. But the smoke, soot, and ash we experienced over past 2-3 weeks has had significant negative impact on your air filters. If you drove your car during that time, it’s a good idea to replace both air filters.
Cabin air filter replacement and engine air filter replacement can be accomplished at the same time as your car is getting an oil service. Get fresh air filters, fresh engine oil, and a fresh engine oil filter at the same time. Your car will be happier, your engine will work better, and you will be breathing cleaner air.
